The 18th ISLD world congress (International Society for Laser Dentistry) was held in Marriott Hotel, Cairo, Egypt from 26-28 May 2022. After 2 years of waiting due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was the time to reunite again in the land of civilization and history.
The congress was the congress was organized in cooperation with MIU (Misr International University), and the World Academy for Laser Education in Dentistry (WALED).
The main aim behind the congress was to spread the dental laser technology through presenting the latest publications, academic research published in scientific journals, and clinical cases presentations. This was highlighted by a top of the notch scientific program. 31 keynote speakers along with 59 oral speakers presented their lectures throughout the 3 days of the congress; the total number of lectures were 90 lectures. Another goal for the congress was getting our attendees acquainted with the latest high-Tech laser dental machines through the exhibition and the trade show that the congress presents. 16 exhibitors/sponsors participated in the congress, which was a great chance to present their products with the state-of-the-art technology and position themselves in front of 1000 attendees from different countries.
A historical record in Laser Dentistry Congresses was achieved! The congress greatest success was demonstrated by the fact that more than 1000 registered attendees traveling from 23 different countries, from Bahrain, USA, Germany, Pakistan, India, Russia, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Morocco, Poland and more.
For the first time, the congress hosted the ‘Professor Gutknecht Research award’ in memory of our late beloved Prof. Norbert Gutknecht the founder of ISLD society. The award was presented to the best research proposal after being processed by a research jury.
Finally, and by the magical banks of the river Nile in the closing ceremony Gala dinner was the official announcement for the upcoming 19th ISLD World Congress held in Porto, which will be held between 6-8 June 2024.
